A. Charles Vogel, 75, of St. Germain, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at his home.

He was born May 8, 1935, in Milwaukee, the son of August and Frances (Loomis) Vogel. From 1956-2008 he owned and operated Charles Vogel Enterprises in St. Germain. He developed the Arrowhead Snow-Trail Groomer and manufactured in from 1978-2011.

Chuck served in the U.S. Army. He previously served on the new Berlin Volunteer Fire Department. he was a very active member of the St. Germain Lions Club and was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award in 2001, as well as a member of the Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club.

Mr. Vogel is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary (Schulpius); two daughters, June (David Hering) Vogel of St. Germain and Peg (Scott) Sennett of Lake Geneva; two sons, Steve (Terri) Vogel and Jimmy (Jeanna) Vogel, both of St. Germain; one sister, Mary (Bud) Wagner of Nekoosa; three grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, April 16, 11 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff. Father James Hoffman will preside.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday, April 15, at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday.

Burial will follow in St. Germain Cemetery.

A memorial will be established in Mr. Vogel's name.
