There are truly no words that can do justice to Bently’s life and the impact he had on those around him. To be honest, Bently would have hated this damn obituary. Instead he would have asked everyone to come together for a party. You would have walked into his home and almost immediately he would have insisted you have a nice glass of wine or a recently chilled beer. He would have been cooking up some elaborate meal and would tell you to help yourself to some artfully displayed appetizers. While he cooked he would have looked at all his family and friends and smiled … it was a smile filled with love, pride and joy in having the ones he loved around him. During dinner Bently would have shrugged off comments about how amazing his cooking was and instead told you stories about a recent or past motorcycle trip on one of his BMW motorcycles. He would have capped the night off by making you a perfectly muddled old fashioned, asked to play some cribbage and together you would have reminisced about old times or adventures yet to come.
A memorial to Bently’s life is planned for Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bradshaw funeral home in Stillwater, Minn.
