Robert A. Gleffe, 91, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2019 in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Robert was born in 1928 in Polar, Wisc. After graduating from high school in Shawano, Bob enlisted in the Army and served in Japan at the end of World War II. He returned home to Wisconsin and started his career in the grocery business. In 1953 he married Natalie Winter. Together they owned and operated Bob’s Red Owl in Menasha. After selling the store in 1987, Bob realized his dream of living in the Northwoods full time. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the lifestyle of the Lakeland area. He also cherished many hunting and fishing trips around the country and Canada with friends and family. Bob was a friend to all and a stranger to none. He prided himself in being a people person and it was a defining factor in his personal and professional life.

He is survived by his son Robert W. (Kendra) Gleffe and grandsons Logan and Ryan of Steamboat Springs, Colo. Nephews Lee (Peggy) Wilcox and Dan Brown of Arbor Vitae, and many friends that were like family across the country.
