Writer makes case for removing elected officials

To the Editor:

Harry Reid said he will not attend a Washington Redskins game until the team changes its name. Since he has attended many and viewed many on the television in his office, this of course is a new Reid revelation. He slammed the team’s owner, Mr. Snyder, and the government has intruded into the business of a an owner by stripping away some of his team’s trademark rights. Reid called the team’s name racist. After over 70 years of this name, and many games attended and watched, “phony” Harry now calls the name racist.

“The name will change and justice will be done for the tribes of Nevada and across the nation,” Reid said. In other words, the government, ala Harry Reid, will step in and literally take a business and its decisions away from its owner.

Reid and his minions, with over 200 bills passed by the House of Representatives and no action in the Senate, have focused their attention on the Koch Brothers and the Washington Redskins. Whether you believe the name is racist or not, you should be very concerned about those elected officials, who with all the problems facing our country internally and externally are focused on whether the Washington Redskins change their name.

Some have said the name “Washington” is more offensive. Seriously folks, we do need to make some major changes in Washington. Hopefully, we can get these worthless people out of office in November.

I agree. Harry Reid himself, and his actions, have always been more offensive than a sports team name. I do not understand why the good people, aka sheep, in Nevada vote for this person into power.

Term limits John...and public financing of all campaigns for national office... Americans will not get our country back until we understand blind loyalty and voter apathy gets us more of what we got...and "the band plays on."

2 terms and send them home to find a real job thereby infusing fresh blood and ideas into Washington D.C.

We got what we deserve... America decided to vote for cool over competent...how's that workin out?
