To the Editor:
Dear representatives and senators from Wisconsin:
The elections are finally over along with the TV ads and telephone harassing, i.e., robo ads.
How utterly superfluous. Talk about getting people irritated beyond words, this was it.
If you politicians take the money you spend on brainwashing and put it in the general fund it would be much better.
Here is an idea: Joe Blow is running for president. He runs one ad per day for one week telling the public what his platform is. Then the last ad tells them he was going to spend umpteen dollars on ads but instead he’s not going to run any more ads and if elected, he will put that umpteen dollars in the general fund.
Joe Blow would be a shoe-in, guaranteed.
State Sen. Dave Hansen, Green Bay, is drafting legislation to ban the use of automated robo calls for political purposes. People will be watching to see who votes for that terrific idea.
It is high time – no, way past time – you folks quit partisan politics and start working for the people, not your particular party.
The last election proved without a doubt there are a lot of people mad at both parties and voted for independents. In the 12th, 34th and 35th districts 4 to 7 percent voted independent. You Republicans and Democrats think about that real hard.
The federal government is a disgrace to this great country. At least Wisconsin shows some promise, but not much.
P.S. I vote for the person who I think is honest and sincere, not for a party.
