To the Editor:
Choose pets wisely and with great care – the season of giving and caring is not only the time for people, but also a time to think about animals.
It seems the holiday season is a time to give pets as a gift. Actually, it is not. Too many distractions – company coming, many activities going on, crazy schedules, etc.
The new puppy or kitten ends up getting neglected. Wait until January or even spring to get a pet. Training them is easier then.
Remember, when you get a new pet that love, loyalty, and companionship are the basic ingredients in the man-pet relationship.
It is a lasting commitment to your pet as long as he likes.
You don’t tie him up in the backyard because he is not cute anymore.
With your pet at your side, you will never feel alone.
