I was reading in The Lakeland Times about the town board and the discussion about buoys.
It seems to me if the DNR controls the waterways they share at least some responsibility for markers in the lakes. In my case, I bought a brand new pontoon. The first time I used it I got in a rock pile and ruined the prop. Now, for the first time somebody put out five markers on the obstructions.
The next time out on a different lake I hit a boulder just under the surface. A few years ago somebody put out a milk jug that disappeared. Lost another propeller. Somebody this summer put out another milk jug. Some years ago I had a pleasure boat on Trout Lake riding around the campground. I hit a boulder and it threw the motor up. This stuff costs a lot of money and I see nothing wrong with people helping people, however, I do have a problem with people hoggin space. If the DNR wants to run things they need to do their part.
