The governor is at it again

To the Editor:

Your governor and potential presidential candidate has made another excuse for his continued lack of performance.

This time he’s blaming the end of the payroll tax vacation. This Obama tax vacation was initially set to end in 2011, but extended twice by Congress finally to the end of 2012.

With Walker’s attention to the national stage including influence with ALEC and many House of Representative members, why didn’t he initiate a movement to extend it further. He claims this loss in take home pay will have a major national economic effect. Yet he didn’t have a problem with taking 17-1⁄2 percent out of state employees’ take home pay. He didn't have a problem with giving unaccountable millions of my tax dollars to corporations to ultimately do little if anything to benefit Wisconsin.

But this again is his methodology born and nurtured while he was Milwaukee County Executive, the old find a “scapegoat program.” The last time he saved me tax money was due to my home value dropping 250 percent more than the few tax dollars saved.

I just hope his next budget doesn’t get us closer to the bottom of the national list for poorest state educational and environmental systems.

Susanne: I agree that our education system is terrible. Believe it or not, the University of Arizona now has a degree in "hip hop". There has never been any empirical evidence linking education and funding. Some of the best schools are ones with very little money but GOOD TEACHERS. Now we can get rid of the bad ones and keep the good ones from leaving.

Larry, what are you even talking about?? how does the Federal payroll tax increase have anything to do with Walker? or is this just another case of liberals trying to tie Walker to the failed promises of Obama?

Larry, I agree with you 100%. Our education system is so damaged in this country that we are getting lower on the list world wide each year. What you have said about the governor is so true. I appreciate your truthfulness. People, like you have the power to change our decaying system. We need more speaking out for the people, not just the rich. Our middle class will be gone if the present path that is being taken continues. . .

Hey Larry, Just like Obama is our President, Walker is our governor not "your" governor. Like it or not, those are the facts. You must be a very wealthy man if Walker has spent "untold millions of my tax dollars".
Just saying..............
