Old-age game skew the statistics

To the Editor:

This letter is in response to Mary Kubinek’s letter to the editor Jan. 22. As I read the article I see parts that are not correct.

This is an old-age game that’s been played for years. It’s called polls. Polls are made up of three groups. The millions of people that were never asked, the left anti-gunners, and the straight up.

The people with an anti-gun agenda have a tendency to take their poll from the left media manipulated figures. On-the-street polls are manipulated pick-and-choose for TV. The figures Ms. Kubinek shows in her article are out of whack. There are millions of people out there who don’t care one way or the other and then the other two. These two are the political parties, the pro-gun and the anti-gun groups.

You hardly ever see favorable articles about pro-gun in the news or anywhere. The anti-gun movement is like cancer – it never stops spreading its propaganda. They highlight the people killed by guns but they will not tell about the people saved by a good, armed samaritan.

Of the people killed by gunfire, a large number of them are by cops, but they will not tell you that. The Democrat Mayor Bloomberg himself said the nine people injured by police were the result of the attempted capture of one man.

I have never talked to a person who favored gun registration. People know registration means confiscation, which would make the left feel real proud.

I served in combat for 15 months in the Korean War. I’ve had to sleep on the ground in 40 degree below zero temperature just so people like Ms. Kubinek could have a safe place to sleep at night.

I love all Americans. I am an American veteran and I don’t want anybody taking my constitutional rights away by liberal factions. It was firearms that saved this country in the first place. I will say to Ms. Kubinek, I wish you all the luck in the world but please don’t try to take my rights away. Going after the good guy will solve nothing. The mental and the criminal don’t care anyway.

This country is going downhill like a runaway train because our president spends more time trying to implement gun control than running the government. Obama gun control appears to be number one priority and job creation number two – or not at all.

People listen to what Obama says but that’s not what he does. He is a Marxist socialist bent to take our rights away. Obama says the Constitution is outdated and needs a new one to his liking.

Sleep tight, Ms. Kubinek, and God bless your family.

Messrs Baird and Collins: Yes, The Republicans lost the election but what is much more important is that America lost the election! One only has to look at the Socialist track the president is on and compare it with that of Argentina, Greece or even Portugal. Who in their right minds can't see that? Yes WE lost !! The reason is simple if you see that slightly over 51% of Obama's BASE is under the influence of entitlements. Who can blame them when they are so happy where they are? I will leave you with a quote from one of my favorite politicians, Adlai Stevenson, who replied to a woman in the crowd who yelled "Adlai, all the smart people in America will vote for you". His reply speaks volumes after Obama's victory. He said, "Yes, but that won't help, we need a majority".

Mr. Duddles again attacks the same old straw man of the PRESIDENT Obama that Republicans could not defeat in an election that they tried so hard to skew to their votes. Suck it up. Most Americans don't buy you Cool aid.

Knowing that your home address is in Waukesha county where the Republican county commissioners turn in the election ballots after keeping them over night, I can see why you never talk to any one who doesn't agree whit your views.

Mr. Duddles . . . it's hard to know where to start.

Let me start by saying that I, too, am a veteran . . . I served twelve months in the 101st Airborne in Vietnam . . . so I, too, served to protect your rights, Mr. Duddles, even your right to right write. I am also a gun owner.

There are no bills in Congress calling for gun registration . . . so your argument about registration makes no sense.

As far as your comment about Mayor Bloomburg, perhaps you are not aware of the fact that "Democrat" Mayor Bloomburg has never run for office as a Democrat, only as a Republican.

It's laughable that you call the President a "Marxist socialist." Your comment makes clear that you have no idea what a Marxist is nor any idea what a socialist is.

You also write that "Obama says the Constitution is outdated and needs a new one to his liking." I have never read that anywhere except in your rant. Perhaps you could give us your source . . . and if you have no source, at least you could acknowledge that you made that charge up out of whole cloth.

Clearly, Mr. Duddles, those pesky little things called "facts" are foreign to you.
