In celebration of wrestling remaining an Olympic sport, the Lakeland Wrestling Booster Club is inviting all former wrestlers, Lakeland alumni or otherwise, to be honored at Lakeland’s first home meet, Thursday, Dec. 19, against Rhinelander.
All former wrestlers are invited to the Lakeland Union High School field house to watch the wrestling action, which will include the varsity meet at 7 p.m., preceded by junior high wrestling matches.
Any former wrestlers who plan on attending should call Dr. Guillermo Gonzalez at 715-356-1606 or 715-614-8765 to RSVP.
The Lakeland wrestling team will host two more home meets this season. Lakeland will square off against Crandon on Thursday, Jan. 2, and will face Medford Thursday, Jan. 16.
The Crandon meet will also be Parents’ Night, and will feature junior high wrestling matches before the varsity meet begins at 7 p.m.
Lakeland’s final meet, Jan. 16, against Medford, will be Senior and Youth Night.
