Rededication of the Paul B. Leitch Gymnasium in the Mercer Public School took place between the girls' and boys' varsity basketball games on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The retirement of the old sign was given to Steve Leitch, grandson of Paul Leitch, by athletic director, Adam Miller.

Steve Leitch told the crowd he was at the basketball game in 1971 when the gym was dedicated to his grandfather and Mercer beat Minong handily and he was looking forward to the boys winning against Winter this particular night. He told the crowd his dad, Jack Leitch, wanted to be there but spends his winters in Arizona and sends his thanks.

Miller thanked tech-ed instructor Isaac Markus, for the frame and building and grounds manager Adam Kussard, for hanging the new sign, provided by the Leitch family.

Paul B. Leitch owned and operated the Leitch Agency in Mercer and it was taken over by son, Jack. The Leitch Family relocated their insurance agency to River Falls where the third and fourth generation of the Leitch family, Steve and Ryan, now own the business.
