Rededication of the Paul B. Leitch Gymnasium in the Mercer Public School took place between the girls' and boys' varsity basketball games on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The retirement of the old sign was given to Steve Leitch, grandson of Paul Leitch, by athletic director, Adam Miller.

Mercer throwers dominate at regionals
The Mercer track team is picking up steam at just the right time. Competing in a WIAA Division 3 regional meet Monday at Flambeau, the Tigers took third in the girls' division with 96 points. Chequamegon took first place with 167, while Phillips finished in second with 136. (subscriber access)

In another busy week for the Mercer track team, the Tigers took part in two invites, continuing to achieve strong field results along the way. It was another strong outing for the Mercer track and field team, especially for the girls, who finished second in an Indianhead Conference invite held at South Shore on Thursday with 67 points. Ironwood topped the event with 91 points.
