This past weekend Minocqua native Kaeden Nomm got to fulfill a dream: to play on the most famous golf course in the world, Augusta National.

Nomm, participating there for the Drive, Chip and Putt Championships, represented not only the town of Minocqua, but the state of Wisconsin as only 10 kids from around the country competed in the event for the 12-13 age group.

Collecting 15 points on the day - five for driving, six for chipping and four for putting - Nomm finished in sixth place overall.

Nomm's best drive ranged 230.1 yards, while his chip total came to 20 feet, 7 inches. Putting for Nomm came to a total of 5-8 on the day. The shorter the distances for the chip and the putt earned you more points, whereas the farthest drive earned the most points.

Zachary Colon, of Bolton, Mass., took first place with eight points in all three events.

The Midwest had one other representative, Connor McNeely of Noblesville, Ill., who finished in 10th with seven points.

Nomm is already signed up to participate in next year's event.

Grown men weep at the thought of one day swinging a club on the legendary Augusta National golf course. Kaeden Nomm has been-there-done-that before he hits high school. Life isn't fair.

(Congratulations, Kaeden. Fantastic.)
