At age 51, Arbor Vitae’s Mike Lehman was the oldest driver, by at least a decade, competing for the Eagle River World Championship last weekend.
But he fared pretty well.
In the Semi-Pro Champ finals, Lehman took fifth. He placed in another race as well.
“I entered the World Championship and got as far as the Semi Feature on Sunday,” he said “That’s the race where they take the first and second to go to the back row for the World’s Championship and I ended up fifth in that race.
“So, I’m not quite there, but competitive, and made it all the way to that semi feature in the World Championship Class.”
The fifth in the World Championship Semi Feature makes Lehman 15th in the world.
Lehman also placed on Vintage Weekend, finishing fourth in the Sno-Pro 340 IFS X Masters. The class is for drivers 50 and older. Lehman took first in the class last year.
