Meah Alimi, 10, of Woodruff had something interesting to share with The Lakeland Times recently.
“We got pictures of a three-legged deer,” she said.
The deer recently began showing up around their home on Birch Street.
“The second time it came around – it’s always with a pack of deer – we decided to take some pictures of it,” Meah said.
Meah took the photos.
She said the three-legged deer gets around “pretty good.”
“[The deer] just walks up and down the street,” Meah said.
The injured doe is not a loner.
“They kind of always just stay in a pack,” Meah said.
“[Meah] said she thinks the other deer are looking out for her; kind of helping her,” Meah’s grandpa, Dale Wiesbrock said.
The deer looks pretty healthy and no other injuries are apparent. The doe limps a bit.
Meah enjoys time spent with camera in hand. She said she’d like to get into photography some day.
