Agency rejects petition to list wolves as threatened

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service denied a petition to reclassify almost all wolves in the lower 48 states as “threatened” under the Endangered Species Act last week. The petition was filed in January by the Humane Society and more than 20 other groups. (Subscriber access)

Twelve counties and four tribal reservation deer management units will be bucks-only for the 2015 deer hunting season.
