'Frozen Tozen' is a success

The fifth annual Boulder Junction Frozen Tozen, held Saturday, Feb. 23, was a great event thanks to the support of sponsors, donators, volunteers and participants.

The Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce is grateful to all who were involved in making this event fun and successful for the community and visitors. Nearly $2,000 was raised at this event for the Boulder Junction Area Boat Landing Improvement Fund.

 

Ice fishing tournament

A total of 42 anglers registered for the ice fishing tournament. Thirty-five fish were caught and the following awards were given during the after party at Boulder Beer Bar:

• Junior northern pike:  Hunter Greyhair, Boulder Junction, 24-3⁄4 inches. 

• Junior Scott Kimball Award (for largest overall fish): Hunter Greyhair, Boulder Junction, 24-3⁄4-inch northern pike.

• Panfish: Josh Oldenberg, Burlington, 11-inch crappie.

• Northern pike: William Sprenger, Minocqua, 27-3⁄4 inches.

• Walleye: William Sprenger, Minocqua, 12 inches. 

• Scott Kimball Award (for largest overall fish): William Sprenger, Minocqua, 27-3⁄4-inch northern pike.

 • Team award: Keystone Shockers with a total of 138-1⁄2 inches. Team anglers were Matt Hewitt and Josh Oldenberg.

 

Ice golf and turkey bowling

Ice golf and turkey bowling benefitting the Community Food Pantry and brought in lots of participation and lots of smiles. Gift Certificates for Trout Lake Golf Club and apparel from Island City Lanes were awarded to the following:

Junior ice golf

• First place: Joe Beda, Boulder Junction.

• Second place: Kolton Teichmiller, Minocqua.

• Junior long drive: Joe Beda, Boulder Junction.

Adult ice golf

• First place:  Matt Poytinger, Milwaukee.

• Second place: Rob Klemm, Elgin, Ill.

• Adult long drive: Rob Klemm, Elgin, Ill.

Junior turkey bowling

• First place: Alex Garner.

• Second place: Kort Meyer.

Adult turkey bowling

• First place: Matt Poytinger, Milwaukee.

• Second place: Terry Roemke, Mequon.

Congrats to grand prize raffle winner, Cash Ouimette, of Minocqua. Cash and his family won a weekend vacation package valued at over $700. One-hundred other great raffle prizes were also awarded to ticket holders.
