The remaining Oneida County state funded snowmobile trail system maintained by the Minocqua Forest Riders (trails 5, 10 and 12 in northwest Oneida County) officially opened at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 19.
All Oneida County state-funded snowmobile trails are now open for the season. All other trails maintained by the Minocqua Forest Riders are still closed until further notice.
As always, the Oneida County Forestry, Land, & Recreation Department recommends staying on clearly marked trails. We recommend riders do not cross area lakes until the route across the lake is clearly marked. Always exercise caution when riding a snowmobile.
For more detailed information on Oneida County Snowmobile trail riding opportunities, contact the local snowmobile club in the area that you would like to ride, the Oneida County Chamber of Commerce, or the Oneida County Forestry, Land, & Recreation Department.
