Minocqua Lions to hold 10th annual Gun Night Oct. 7
The Minocqua Lions Club will host its 10th annual gun night dinner banquet Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Minocqua Country Club. The event is the major fundraising event for the club and has grown to be a very popular event for the Northwoods area.

Arbor Vitae couple gets rare look at the Wisconsin state animal
Allen and Nancy Labecki got a rare look at a badger on their Arbor Vitae property July 25.
A couple of weeks ago Allen and Nancy Labecki noticed fresh dirt, huge mounds and four or five very big holes in their yard. They thought maybe they had a gopher problem.

Wisconsin's wolf population sees 10 percent increase
The newest numbers recently released by the Wisconsin DNR indicate that the state's gray wolf population at the close of the 2009-10 winter is estimated at between 690 to 733 - roughly a 10 percent increase over the 2008-09 end-of-winter estimate.
