The thirteenth annual Cruiserfest takes place in two weeks, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8 and 9.
Kicking off the event Friday evening will be a bon fire, food, beverages and music in the heated tent on Lake Minocqua from 6 to 8 p.m. At 6:15 p.m. there will be a snowmobile parade from Stacks Bay to the Aqua Bowl and fireworks will be set off over Lake Minocqua at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 9, will be the day of radar runs. Start the day out with breakfast in the heated tent on the ice, which will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Don’t sweat it if you miss the first meal of the day – chili, brats, burgers and beverages will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration for the Radar Runs take place at 9:30 a.m., with the timed races following at 10:30 a.m. Thirty classes will compete on hard pack snow and the new 1,000-foot shaved ice track made by the St. Germain Racing Club. At 2 p.m. the ladies will get a chance at the ice track in the Bikini Races.
The awards presentation for the day’s races will be held following the events.
But there’s more to Cruiserfest than just the timed snowmobile runs. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., take a ride on a groomer and check out dealer displays. Also, a swap meet to sell your sled or ATV will be held throughout the day. Don’t forget to bring your vintage sled for the Vintage Sled Display that will also take place all day.
Though most of Cruiserfest’s events are held on the ice of Lake Minocqua, there will be a raffle and gun drawings down the street at the American Legion Hall, located at 121 West Front St. Starting at 1 p.m. there will be a cash bar available at the legion hall.
Wrapping up the event, a dinner will be held at the American Legion at 7 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
