The 15th annual Festival Aurora Borealis Chorus will present its concert Tuesday, Aug. 5, 7 p.m., at the Campanile Center for the Arts.
This year’s theme is Wicked and Wonderful:The Musicals of Stephen Sondheim and Stephen Schwartz. The featured music is from "Wicked," "Godspell," "Sweeney Todd," and "Into the Woods."
This is a fun and unique chorus that convenes each summer for just one week of rehearsals and then performs the concert at the end of the week. Audiences are continually amazed at the quality of the music. This just speaks for the caliber of talent we have here in the Northwoods.
David and Beverly Baar are well-known and respected musicians, teachers, directors and performers from the Chicago area. David directs the chorus while Beverly is the rehearsal and performance accompanist. Their talents and personalities are much of the draw for the chorus members.
Come to the concert on August 5 and see for yourself.
Campanile is located one block west of southbound Hwy. 51 on Milwaukee St. in downtown Minocqua.
A suggested minimum donation of $5 is requested to help defray expenses.
