Saturday, Aug. 2, a stone placement ceremony will be held at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park near Neillsville.
Friends and family are expected to attend the ceremony in honor of Larry Ebeling and Gary Kraus, both of Woodruff.
Sponsored by the Minocqua Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 256, the stone in honor of the two Woodruff veterans will be inscribed as follows:
Minocqua VVA Honors
Gary Krause Army VN
Larry Ebeling 196LIB
Those attending are reminded to bring lawn chairs to make the wait more comfortable.
The ceremony will begin with the ringing of the Liberty Bell. Colors will be presented and a volunteer will lead those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.
After earth from the previous legacy stone ceremony is mixed with the earth from the day’s ceremony, each family will place their stone.
Following the placement, everyone will move onto the plaza to form a circle. Those attending will be encouraged to share their thoughts with the group.
The ceremony is expected to last up to two hours.
