The Lakeland Area Genealogical Society will hold their next meeting at 2 p.m. August 12 in the Minocqua Library. The program this month is a webinar titled “Using Google Earth for Genealogy,” presented by Lisa Louise Cooke. This should be an interesting new method to help in our research of family history.
Future activities are varied. LAGS is currently in the process of planning a cemetery walk of the Hazlehurst Lakeside Garden of Sleep for September. There will be a guest speaker from the Veterans’ Museum to speak in October.
LAGS is a group of local genealogists who have varying interests and degrees of experience in researching and compiling their family histories. They meet once a month, usually at the Minocqua Library, for a brief business meeting and a program. They share ideas and help one another. Visitors are always welcome.
