Friday, Aug. 8

Blood drive: 8 a.m.-noon at Marshfield Clinic in Minocqua. To schedule a donation appointment, call Becky at 715-358-1478 or visit www.save3lives.org. Walk-in donors are welcome.

Beginner Yoga: 8:15 a.m.-9:15 a.m. at North Lakeland Discovery Center. Beginner class led by certified instructor Heidi Eldred. Register online at tnolanyoga.com or register and pay day of. $15.

Pontoon cruise: 9 a.m.-noon and  3:30-6:30 p.m. at The Discovery Center. Enjoy a seven-mile pontoon cruise with a start on Rest Lake. View historic boathouses and homes and enjoy a little history. $20, $25 non-member.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga: 9:30 a.m.- 10:45 a.m. at North Lakeland Discover Center. Good for those with some experience, but open to all levels. Class is led by certified instructor Tara Nolan. Register online at tnolanyoga.com or register and pay day of. $15.

SUP Yoga Lessons: 1 p.m.-3 p.m. at North Lakeland Discovery Center. Stand up paddle-boarding mixed with yoga. Sign up is online attnolanyoga.com, all equipment is included for $35.


Saturday, Aug. 9

Northern Hornshoe Snowmobile Club fundraiser: 11 a.m. Trailside Bar in Lac du Flambeau. Brats, hot dogs, pulled pork, turkey sandwiches. Raffles for Brewers tickets, hotel stays, and dinning certificates. Horseshoe tournament and 50-50 drawings. For more information call 715-588-2602 or visit www.hornshoe.org.

Pig and Corn Roast: 4 p.m. at the Gateway Lodge & Resort in Mercer. Pork, corn, raffles and much more. Sponsored by Turtle-Flambeau Flowage Association. For more information, call 715-476-7878 or visit www.tffa.info.

Spaghetti dinner : 4:30-8 p.m. at the Presque Isle community center. Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, drink and desert for $7, adults, $3, children, and under five eat free.

Hazelhurst Fireman’s Ball: 7-11:30 p.m. at the Hazelhurst fire station. Food, refreshments, raffles, door prizes, and live music by Kyle Mertz.

Full moon paddle: 8 p.m. Northern Paddle and Trail, an area outdoor activity group, invites the public to a full moon paddle on the Moen Lake Chain. Check the Northern Paddle and Trail website at www.northernpaddletrail.org for details.


Sunday, Aug. 10

Turkey shoot trap competition: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at public shooting range on Hwy. 51, four miles south of Mercer. $5 per-round, prizes awarded. Standard trap rules apply. Food available. For more information, call Chuck at 715-476-3648.

Pancake breakfast: 10:30 a.m.-noon at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lac du Flambeau. All you can eat pancakes, eggs, sausage, dessert, juice, coffee and milk. Cost is $7, children 10 and under eat free. Hosted by Minocqua-Lac du Flambeau Knights of Columbus. All are welcome.

Mercer Lioness chicken barbecue: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Carow Park in Mercer. Great food, raffles, and music. Tickets are $10, all are welcome. For more information, call 715-476-0301, or 715-476-2601.

Concert in Torpy Park: Time to be announced. The Lakeland Community Concert Band will perform at Musky Days in Boulder Junction. For more information, call Laurie Timm at 715-542-3823. 

Pie and ice cream social: 10 a.m. at United Church of Christ in Elcho. Pies sold whole or by the slice. Brats, burgers and corn also available. All are welcome.
