Trinity Lutheran Ladies Guild, Boulder Junction, will be hosting its twelfth annual Friendship Tea for friends, neighbors and area guests at the church Wednesday, May 21, 1-3 p.m.
The tea’s theme this year will be “A Cup of Blessings.”
Individual tables for guests will be decorated with different tea cups and buttons by the hostess of that table.
Tea will be served at 1 p.m., and a special program, “Buttons and Blessings,” will begin about 2 p.m. The guild members will be sharing the interesting history of buttons and presenting some unusual fashions for the entertainment of guests.
Guests will be seated at tables decorated with tea cups and buttons.
Guests are encouraged to bring a special story or an example of an unique button to share with others at their table. As always, guests can decorate a hat with buttons or a tea cup theme for a special prize if they wish to enter the hat contest.
The menu for the tea will feature punch, a variety of teas and different “crumpets” or finger sandwiches, appetizers, fruit and desserts. Each year the guild plans to serve a variety of new and favorite tea sandwiches and desserts in an inviting and appealing manner for both the eye and the appetite.
Spring hats are nice but not necessary for the tea. For fun, prizes will be awarded to those who traveled the farthest distance to the tea, the oldest attendee, the oldest mother/daughter(s) present, the most unusual hat, and a hat decorated with a button or tea cup theme.
Tickets will cost $8. Ticket reservations are required again this year to assure that all guests can be accommodated.
Please call by Sunday, May 13, to reserve a ticket and make arrangements for paying and receiving the ticket.
Reservations may be made by calling either Irene Gravelle in Boulder Junction at 715-385-2222 or Karen Walbruck at 715-356-3902.
Proceeds from the tea will be used for local and mission projects supported by the guild.
Trinity Lutheran Church is located on the right at the east end of town past the Boulder Junction Post Office.
The tea will be served in the fellowship hall.
Call a friend and plan to attend to welcome in the early summer social season.
