There will be something for everyone at this year’s Northwoods Summer Thunder Motorcycle Rally set to be held Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14 – motorcyclists, automobile drivers, bicyclists, passengers and pedestrians.
You can start early (bikers and non-bikers alike) with two tavern league fun runs.
Those interested in participating in the fun runs can start collecting stamps on fun run cards now to be eligible for cash prize drawings in June. No purchase necessary.
New this year – A big fun run on Saturday, June 14, with routes featuring large roadside attractions from here to Hurley and beyond.
Live music will be offered in Torpy Park from 6-10 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday evenings – free and open to the public.
Great food will be sold and served by Lakeland Special Olympics from 2-10 p.m. on Friday and 4-10 p.m. on Saturday.
Refreshing beverages will be sold and served by the Lakeland Tavern League from 2-10 p.m. on Friday and 4-10 p.m. on Saturday.
There will be many raffles and drawings both nights, from 6-10 p.m., thanks to the generous sponsors and supporters.
Take advantage of this opportunity to feel the rumble by trying out the Harley-Davidson JUMPSTART Rider Experience at Torpy Park on Saturday evening.
The Lakeland Area Special Olympics provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
