Fe University presents 'The Witch Panic' beginning Feb. 8
Why does witchcraft remain a fascinating subject even now in the 21st century? Since the time of ancient Greece, art and literature have been filled with descriptions of activities of witches, leading to widespread suspicion and brutal witch trials in the New World and in Europe. For an in depth study of this phenomenon and what we can learn from it today, Fe University presents a 4-session class, "The Witch Panic of the 16th and 17th Centuries in the Western World," taught by University of Wisconsin professor, Dr. Mary Magray. The class will be taught at the Mercer Library for four Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon, Feb. 8 through March 1.

A great day for the Minocqua Forest Riders chili feed
Clear blue skies and bright sunshine, coupled with excellent trail conditions, brought snowmobile riders out in force in the Northwoods last weekend. Groups of sleds could be seen at any tavern or restaurant along the trail system. Nowhere was this more true than at The Boathouse in Minocqua.
