Paul D. Hofmann, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at the Veterans Home in King. He was born the last of eight children Dec. 24, 1929, to Albert and Beatrice (Heitman) in Wellsville, Ohio. He served in the Korean War and worked as a chef in Milwaukee, before retiring in the Minocqua area. Paul loved fishing and the outdoors. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
His loving wife, Collinette Martha (Gerth) preceded him in death. He is survived by one sister, Mary (Heald), of Texas; two sons, Mike Allan Hofmann (Lynda), Wausau, and Paul D. Hofmann, Jr. (Kay), Hazelhurst; two daughters, Denise Dillenberg, Rhinelander, and Renee Eve Krosschell (Scott), Hazelhurst; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held Nov. 10, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at the American Legion Post 318 in Lake Tomahawk.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, a memorial fund under his daughter’s name, Renee Krosschell, has been established at River Valley Bank, P.O. Box 1135, Minocqua, WI 54548.
