Marvin B. Feltz, 76, of Lake Tomahawk, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston.
Marvin was born Sept. 22, 1936, in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late John and Emily (Hintz) Feltz. He attended local schools.
He served in the United States Army Reserve and the Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve in 1963.
His marriage to Jean Shemanski took place Oct. 15, 1960, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Marvin worked for Eagle Plumbing & Heating for 13 years, and then was self-employed, where he owned and operated Feltz Heating & Cooling.
He was a lifetime member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post #185.
He enjoyed NASCAR racing, polka music, Green Bay Packers, fishing, hunting, pontooning, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Marvin in survived by his wife, Jean Feltz of Lake Tomahawk; five children, Daniel (Tina) Feltz, David (Sandy) Feltz, and Donald (Lori) Feltz, all of Stevens Point, Lori (Tim) Wideman of Amherst, and Lisa (special friend Lester) Gullikson of Custer; 10 grandchildren, D.J., Tyler, Cassie, Kimmy, Samantha, Josh, Kirsten, Seth, Brianna and Kim; three great-granddaughters, Peyton, Paige and Chloe; one brother, Larry (Mary) Feltz of Stevens Point; and three sisters, Ruth (Florian) Yenter of Bevent, Juanita (Don) Furmack of Oak Creek and Jean Ann (Ted) Fischer of Windlake.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clarence; and one sister, Joyce Firkus.
A funeral Mass was held Friday, Nov. 23, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Torun. Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiated.
Burial with full military honors followed in the parish cemetery.
Pisarski Funeral Homes of Stevens Point and Plover handled the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marvin’s name will be established at a later date.
