Juanita “Wannie” Johnson, 80, of Minocqua, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family, after a 12-year struggle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born March 6, 1932, in Eagle River, the daughter of DeWayne “Frosty” and Garnet Richmond.
Wannie graduated from Miss Brown’s Business College of Milwaukee in 1952. On July 14, 1952, she married Robert E. Johnson. Wannie was a legal secretary working for several local attorneys. In her spare time, she enjoyed needlework, reading, crossword puzzles, wintering in Florida and above all, her family.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert E. Johnson of Minocqua; three children, Laurie Johnson of Green Bay, Jodie (David) Zajac of Wyoming, Minn., and Jim (Trish) Johnson of Mukwonago; three grandchildren, Peter (Laura), Meghan and Mark; and soon-to-be-born twin great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her four younger sisters, Nancy, Dixie, Tinkie and Kathy.
At Wannie’s request, a private celebration of life will be held for the immediate family.

She is already so missed.
