Frank Tomlanovich, 61, a lifelong resident of Eagle River, died June 20, 2013, at his home after a brief bout with an aggressive cancer.
He was born Jan. 28, 1952, in Janesville, to Frank and Stephanie Tomlanovich. Frank was a longtime police officer, starting his career with the Eagle River Police and the Vilas County Sheriff’s office attaining the rank of detective.
He was elected Vilas County Sheriff in 2010. He was a member of the Badger Sheriff Association and Wisconsin Deputy and Sheriff Association.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank in 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Tomlanovich of Eagle River; his mother, Stephanie of Eagle River; one daughter, Cristi Rosinski of Eagle River; three sons, Eric Tomlanovich of Eagle River, Chad (Sheryl) Rosinski of Conover, and Shane Rosinski of Owens; one brother, James David Tomlanovich of Merrill; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 24, 6 p.m., at the Northland Pines High School auditorium.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 3 p.m. until the time of the service at the auditorium.
A memorial will be established in Frank’s name.
