Dawn M. McDougal-Kern, Kronenwetter, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.
Dawn was born in Antigo to the late Alfred Spengler and Adele Schultz. She was married to Gene McDougal June 9, 1950, and together they had five children.
On July 13, 1993, she married Robert Kern. Dawn attended Antigo High School and earned her nursing degree from Northcentral Technical College, Wausau.
Her interests included sewing, quilting, cross country skiing, camping and dog shows. Dawn was a camp host for Firefly and Crystal Lake for 30 years.
Dawn is survived by her children, Bruce (Carol) McDougal of Emmaus, Pa., Lynda (Jerry) Below of Antigo, Paul (Mary) McDougal of Weston, and Jeff McDougal of Antigo; one step-daughter, Tonita (Greg) Proulx of DePere; nine grandchildren, Delaney McDougal, Jackson Below, Brandon Below, Megan McDougal, Caitlin McDougal, Devin McDougal, Laurel Proulx, Jake Proulx and Tanner Proulx. She is further survived by one brother, Phillip (Audrey) Spengler of Wautoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children; her husband, Robert Kern; and daughter Gena Kay.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2 p.m., at Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston.
Deacon Bob Anderson of The Church of Saint Anne will officiate.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
