Paul J. Schoenecker, 76, Minocqua, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his children Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013.
Paul was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Milwaukee, the son of John and Mona (Hellickson) Schoenecker.
Paul retired from the steamfitters Union Local 601 in 1994. He then built his dream home in Minocqua, where he and his wife, Phyllis, called home. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and his good friend, Richard Halling, and enjoyed hunting and traveling with his wife to Arizona and California during the winter months. He loved watching his grandchildren and watching them grow up.
Paul is survived by his children, John of Waukesha, Jeff (Terri) of Oconomowoc, Julie (Jon Warren) of Waukesha, and Joe (Lori) of Arbor Vitae; by his grandchildren, Jeremy, Aaron, Rebecca, Amy and Paul, and by great-grandchildren Blake, Olivia, Haiden and Charisma.
He is further survived by one brother, John; one sister, Barbara; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his parents; and one brother, Steven.
Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, 11 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff.
There will also be a service held Thursday, Nov. 21, 11 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha, with a reception to follow at Albanese Roadhouse, 2301 Bluemound Road, Waukesha.
