Dorothy A. Walin, 89, Minocqua, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Our Home K Care.
She was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Illinois, the daughter of David and Anna (Carlson) Borg.
Dorothy was a professional dog groomer and show judge. She owned and operated The Velvet Bow in Hinsdale, Ill. Dorothy published a nationally-recognized book on pet grooming as well as being the author of numerous magazine articles and trade publications. She also wrote instruction manuals for the Oster Corporation Pet Division.
Mrs. Walin is survived by one daughter, Judy (John Parish) Edwards of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; two sons, Carl Walin of The Villages, Fla., and Clifford (Karen) Walin of Naperville, Ill.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, in 2012; and one daughter-in-law, Bonita Walin.
A graveside service will be held in the spring.
