Robert "Terry" Tarence Lee age 74, passed away suddenly on May 16, 2015. Terry was born in Tomahawk, WI to Robert Sheldon Lee and Dorothy Mae Knuth. He was a life long resident of Minocqua. He was in the first graduating class of Lakeland Union High School in 1958 and a member of the high school ski team.
Calvin A. Hedstrom, age 57, of Minocqua, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 14 at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. Cal was born on April 3, 1958 in Tomahawk, the son of Ralph and Agnes (nee Weier) Hedstrom.
Gary F. Geurts, 79, passed unexpectedly at home April 27, 2015. He was born in Green Bay June 19, 1935. The son of the late Frank and Ophelia (Maternoski) Geurts. He loved the outdoors, he was a devoted and loving father and grandfather.
James E. Hebert, age 81, of Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015, at his home under hospice care. He was born April 8, 1934, in Pier Willow, to the late Leo and Ann (Zimbauer) Hebert. He enlisted in the U.S Navy and served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His military career continued over 20 years, retiring as chief boiler repairman.
Betty Madison Gunther, age 94, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2015, following complications from pneumonia. She was born Feb. 3, 1921 in Moline, Illinois, to R. Peter and Anna (Martens) Madison. She graduated from Knox College with a degree in psychology. On Dec. 24, 1942, she married Robert C. Gunther in Boston, Massachusetts.
Eugene (Gene) George Hollander, 87, of Lafayette, Indiana, slipped away from complications of recent surgery on May 2, 2015 at Hospice of Palm Beach County in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He was surrounded by loving family at his peaceful passing.
Donald Mitchell Swentzel Jr., 64, of Minocqua passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. He passed peacefully surrounded by his wife, two children and his oldest friend.
James Charles Zeinert, age 53, of Fayetteville, N.C., passed away Saturday, April 18, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on Nov. 16, 1961, in Woodruff, the son of Arlette and the late LeRoy Zeinert.
Robert Knops (Bob), age 76, Dec. 7, 1938 to April 19, 2015. Born in Milwaukee, he moved to Rhinelander in 1969. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carole, his children Kristen (Patrick Brennan), Daniel (Lori) and Jeffrey (Jessie), and his five grandchildren Morgan, Zoe, Ethan, Mia and Sydney and his brother, Gary (Harriet), nieces and nephews and many more who loved him dearly.
We are saddened to announce the death of Norman J. Mesun Sr., 84, on Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Georgetown, S.C., after a short illness. Norman was born Oct. 20, 1930 in Chicago, the son of the late Justin Mesun and Mary Baka. On Jan. 22, 1977 he was united in marriage to Valerie L. Mesun at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk.
Donna Andrews, 80, of Minocqua, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday afternoon, April 18, 2015 at the Seasons of Life Hospice Home in Woodruff. Donna was born May 17, 1934 in Shawano, the daughter of the late Frank “Butch” and Ottilie “Tillie” Krueger.
