Raymond W. Trimble, 95, of Woodruff, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Our Home K-Care Lake Tomahawk.
He was born July 13, 1917, in International Falls, Minn., The son of Eric and Evelyn Trimble, Ray grew up in Milwaukee where he graduated from Marquette University. He later moved to Waukegan, Ill., where he lived for more than 30 years, until retiring as Commander from Great Lakes Naval Base in 1973.
Ray moved to Woodruff in 1978 and was an avid golfer, fisherman, and member of the American Legion Post #89. He also enjoyed volunteering for several charitable organizations.
Ray is survived by his two sons, Tim Trimble of Woodruff and Mike Trimble of Minnesota; one daughter, Kathleen (Richard) Nichols of Zion, Ill.: one step-son, Terry (Laura) Pottala of Waukegan, Ill.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Per Ray’s wishes, cremation will take place and services will be held in the spring.
