Bloom one of three Judges elected in April
Oneida County District Attorney Michael Bloom has been appointed to take over the judicial seat to which he was elected in April. Bloom takes the bench immediately to fill the vacancy left by Judge Mark Mangerson.
Tuesday, May 22, Gov. Scott Walker appointed three judges who were elected in April of this year, allowing each to serve in a branch that is vacant prior to the usual start of their term, which is Aug. 1, 2012.
Included in the appointments was that of Oneida County District Attorney Michael Bloom. He was elected to the bench in April when he won the election over Rhinelander attorney John O'Melia. Bloom's appointment takes effect immediately.
The two others appointed by Walker are:
Attorney Ellen Berz has been appointed to Dane County Branch 11, effective immediately; and
Attorney Tom Eagon, appointed to the Portage County judicial vacancy, effective immediately.
