The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) will host a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to State Highway 70 between Highway 155 and County Highway O in the town of St. Germain.
The meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 11, 4:30-7 p.m., at the town of St. Germain Community Center, 545 Highwy 155, St. Germain.
A brief presentation covering the purpose and need for the project and the proposed improvements is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
Proposed improvements include resurfacing the highway by milling and overlaying the surface with asphalt, reconstructing curb and gutter along the east side of the road, and reconstructing ditches along the west side between Highwy 155 and Patton Road.
The culvert at Little St. Germain Creek will be replaced. These improvements will address storm water drainage and related safety issues along the corridor.
The project is scheduled for construction in 2016 but could occur as early as 2015.
The St. Germain Community Center is wheelchair-accessible.
Those who are hearing impaired and require an interpreter may request one by calling Kristin McHugh at 715-421-8380 at least three working days before the meeting.
