5/2/2014 11:36:00 AM Prowler apprehended in Arbor Vitae
A 22-year-old male was taken into custody early Friday morning after an Arbor Vitae couple discovered a prowler in their home, according to a press release from the Vilas County Sheriff's Office.
At 3:42 a.m. Friday, the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a home on Highway 70 East in Arbor Vitae reporting a prowler inside the home.
The release states that the caller's wife heard someone in the dining room, and investigated the source of the noise. After seeing something, the release states, "she went to touch it and a male subject wearing a hoodie jumped up and ran out the back door."
Vilas County Deputies and the Sheriff's Office K9 unit responded to the scene, and the K9 unit tracked the subject to a nearby home.
According to the release, the 22-year-old male was taken into custody at 5:40 a.m. for the incident. The individual's name has yet to be released as he has yet to be formally charged.
Vilas County Sheriff Joe Fath said Friday afternoon that no further information was available at that time, and that investigation into the incident was still underway.
