Every year in July, many Northwoods visitors and residents look forward to the annual Minocqua Antique and Classic Wooden Boat Show. This year, boat enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the show one month earlier.

The show will be held at the Boathouse in Minocqua on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24.

The boat parade will kick off the weekend on Friday evening and precede the Min-Aqua Bats water ski show. The boat show will take place Saturday, as well as people's choice voting and live music by Brett and Frisk.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Wisconsin (MSSW), the state chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The organization is dedicated to battling multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease which disables the central nervous system and the flow of information between the brain and body.

Over the past 25 years, the Minocqua Antique and Classic Wooden Boat Show has raised more than $125,000 for MSSW.

According to event directors Gordon Moore, Al Hanley and Pete Extrom, a standing order has been submitted to the weather gods for sunshine and warmth.

Roughly 25 boaters are currently signed up but registration will not close until the day of the parade and show. Those interested in participating can register by calling Al Hanley at 715-453-4511 or email info@5StarUpNorth.com.
