Greg VanGrinsven, a member of the Boulder Junction Town Board's road improvement committee established in February, speaks Tuesday evening to an audience of 12 town residents at the first of two public information meetings the committee conducted this week at the community center. The second session was held yesterday afternoon. The committee, following the meetings, is to meet Monday and decide on one of nine scenarios to recommend to the town board for the construction, maintenance and repair of the town's 93 miles of roads. The town board is then expected to consider and discuss the committee's recommendation at its Aug. 22 meeting. If approved then, the recommendation will be on the agenda for a meeting of the town's electors Sept. 12, where its fate will be decided. The possibility of grant funding for whatever recommendation is chosen is a factor as Oct. 1 is the deadline for funding applications with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
