The rainy weather the Minocqua area has had since ground was broken in April for the new Minocqua fire station has caused a few delays but Al Szymanski of MSA Professional Services, team leader for the project, said Monday things are moving forward despite the challenges presented by that rainy weather. He said construction crews this week began roofing, laying brick and the structure's concrete flooring he estimated at 40 percent complete as of Monday and was to continue this week. "They're scheduled to start interior walls in the next week or so," Szymanski said. "Brick work will be continuing. That's going to take some time. But they're progressing well. It's all taking shape and looking really good." Nov. 1 is the target date for substantial completion of the $2.4 million facility, which means that's when fire department personnel may begin moving equipment in. Final completion is to be accomplished by Nov. 30.
