Lake Tomahawk's next town supervisor has been chosen.
The town board, at the moment consisting of town chairman George DeMet and supervisor Stephanie Sowatzka, met in special session Thursday morning along with town clerk Nancy Schneider to review applications for a third supervisor.
The opening on the three member board was created last month with the resignation of Matt Michalsen.
Until recently a teacher at Lakeland Union High School, Michalsen was first elected in the spring of 2015 and over the summer accepted another position with the Marshfield school district.
DeMet said there were four people who submitted applications to fill the vacant seat, one of them Michalsen's father, Gary.
Lake Tomahawk residents Larry Hoffman, Kevin Raymond and former town supervisor Shawn Tingley were the other three.
DeMet said Hoffman, who is retired and lives on Dorothy Lake, was selected from the group to replace Michalsen.
His first meeting as a town supervisor will be tomorrow at 7 p.m. when the town board convenes at the Raymond E. Sloan Community Center.
