3/22/2013 9:44:00 AM Vilas, Oneida counties to close snowmobile trails at end of month
It's been a great season for winter enthusiasts, including snowmobilers. All Lakeland area state funded trails are scheduled to officially close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, March 31, given that they don't deteriorate between now and the end of the month.
The state funded snowmobile trails in both Vilas and Oneida counties will close for the season at the end of this month, Sunday, March 31, at 11:59 p.m.
According to John Bilogan of Oneida County and Dale Mayo of Vilas County, the trails will continue to be open until that date, given that conditions do not deteriorate between now and the end of the month.
Both also noted that they appreciate all of the volunteers and clubs who contributed to making this one of the best seasons in recent memory. Though it was a slow start to the season, the past two months have provided prime riding conditions for visitors and residents.
