The Vilas County Sheriff's Department, along with other regional law enforcement agencies, are seeking information on a man who once lived in Vilas County who is wanted in a string of multiple felonies, including leading police on a high speed chase.
Eric T. "Buck" Hall, 38, was released from prison to the Eau Claire area, according to Vilas County Chief Deputy Mark Collins. Since then, he has skipped out on his extended supervision and is alleged to have stolen several cars, committed several burglaries, was involved in a high speed chase and assaulted a police officer.
Hall has connections, or has been seen in the following counties: Portage, Marathon, Wood, Monroe, Jackson, Grant, Oneida, Sauk, Vilas, Pierce, St. Croix, Eau Claire, Barron and Chippewa. Collins said that Hall lived in Vilas County for a short period of time before his incarceration and may be there, though there has been no confirmed sightings.
It is believed that as part of his string of alleged burglaries, Hall stole firearms and may now be armed.
Collins said that if you spot Hall, do not try to apprehend him, but contact your local law enforcement agency.
If you have information regarding his whereabouts, you may also report the information to the Wood County Crimestoppers through their website www.woodcountycrimestoppers.com or call their hotline at 877-325-7867.
Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
Collins said the press release sent out Wednesday about Hall was part of a concerted effort by regional law enforcement agencies to get the word out.
"We're just trying to get the word out that he is still at large, he is still dangerous, and he is still wanted by police," Collins said.
