Highway departments honor fallen worker
For three blocks they stretched Saturday morning, parked at an angle down one side of Second Street in downtown Tomahawk from Somo Street to the Wisconsin River just past Prospect Street. They were mostly larger trucks, some with plow blades attached. They were yellow, orange, red, white and tan in color, each with the logo of a county highway department on their doors. The Vilas County Board of Supervisors voted nearly unanimously last month to oppose an amendment to the state budget involving the standards for regulating existing structures in shoreland areas, regulations which Vilas County officials said contradicted adopted standards in Wisconsin Administrative Code NR 115. VC law enforcement committee hears from rec officer
