7/27/2014 10:10:00 PM West Bend man drowns in Lake Shishebogama
Russell E. Steiner, West Bend, was pulled from the waters of Lake Shishebogama late Saturday night, July 26, by members of his family, but he later died.
The Minocqua Police Department received a 911 call a 10:58 p.m. from the residence at 8919 W. Minch Road in Minocqua. It was reported that a person in Lake Shishebogama appeared to be struggling. Rescue efforts were immediately initiated.
Prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene family members had pulled Steiner out of the water.
At approximately 11:14 p.m. responding units arrived on scene and initiated CPR. Steiner was transported by ambulance to the Howard Young Medical Center emergency room.
According to Minocqua police, they believe alcohol played a role in the incident.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. Sunday, July 27, the Minocqua Police Department was notified by the Dane County Medical Examiner that Steiner had passed away.
This matter is still under investigation by the Minocqua Police Department, the Dane County Medical Examiner and the Oneida County Medical Examiner, pending the results of an autopsy.
The Minocqua Police Department was assisted in this investigation by Minocqua Fire and Rescue, Oneida County Dive Team and the paramedics from HYMC Ambulance.
