A federal grand jury in the Western District of Wisconsin, sitting in Madison, returned an indictment Thursday against a Lac du Flambeau woman for distribution of oxycodone.
Lois Vetterneck, 53, Lac du Flambeau, is charged with distributing oxycodone.
The indictment alleges that she distributed the drug on April 10, 2013.
If convicted, Vetterneck faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
The charge against her is the result of an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation; Lac du Flambeau Police Department; and the Vilas and Oneida County sheriff’s departments.
The prosecution of this case will be handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rita M. Rumbelow.
Please be advised that, according to the federal court, a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
