2/14/2012 5:13:00 PM Mike Bloom is well-qualified to be judge
To the Editor:
I'm writing to urge voters to support Oneida County district attorney Michael Bloom in the upcoming Feb. 21 primary election for Oneida County Circuit Court Judge.
Mike has more than a decade of day-to-day working experience in the Oneida County court system. He has worked as a public defender, private attorney and, most recently as district attorney.
In those capacities as both defense counsel and prosecutor, he has demonstrated sound judgment, fairness and tenacity in his pursuit of justice. I have personally known Mike for almost 20 years and have been equally impressed by his community work, including serving on the board of YMCA of the Northwoods and as the Rhinelander High School mock trial attorney coach.
Both of my sons participated in mock trial and Mike was an inspiration and mentor to them both. And Mike has served as a model and inspiration to dozens of Rhinelander High School students who have gone on to pursue careers as attorneys.
Mike's combination of experience and solid legal judgment will serve him well as Oneida County Circuit Court Judge.
We need a strong, independent judge like Mike Bloom sitting on the circuit court bench in Oneida County.
