The motorcycle operator who was killed in a Friday afternoon, Aug. 16, accident on Military Road in Three Lakes has been identified.
Police Chief Scott Lea said in published reports that the crash in which Lloyd R. Casperson, 52, of Laona was killed occurred about 2:30 p.m. near Hay Meadow Road.
Casperson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Oneida County coroner.
According to reports, the initial investigation indicated the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve.
The accident is being under investigation by Three Lakes Police and the Oneida County coroner.
In addition, a 51-year-old Deerbrook man died this past weekend from injuries suffered in a Wednesday, Aug. 7, motorcycle crash in the town of Schoepke. In addition, a Friday evening motorcycle accident in Three Lakes has left one dead.
On Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 8:25 p.m., the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle crash on Hwy. B near Repinski Road.
As a result of injuries suffered in this crash, Matthew M. Maierhofer, 51, of Deerbrook, has died.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office had been assisted at the scene of the crash by Oneida County EMS, Fire District Alpha, and the Town of Monico Fire Department First Responders.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office are continuing their investigation into this crash.
